We have a great park in back of our house that is perfect for flying kites. It's a big open space with only a few small trees, so there's not much to get tangled up in! We discovered that the cheap kites are the easiest to fly. You know, the $2.99 specials at the grocery store in the junk aisle? They were great. The beautiful $10 butterfly kite from the toy store wouldn't fly at all.
Hopefully the weather here will warm up again - it's supposed to snow again today, so the kite flying will have to wait until warmer days.

Fun with a Box
I love watching the kids play. I learn so much from them. Just seeing what they did with a box that I considered garbage was a great lesson. They climbed in it, on it, made it a puppet theater, pretended to go camping in it, put their toys in it, played hide and seek with it, set up a tea party on it, colored it, taped paper on it, and on and on and on. This box provided half a day of fun for them! Good thing, too, since it has been too cold to play outside. It looks like this week the temperatures are finally going to warm up so we can play outside. Can't wait!
